Potawatomi Zoo Giraffe Feeding Adventure | South Bend, IN
Majority Builders completed the 10,389 sq. ft. giraffe barn, walkways and feeding platform. The 2.5-acre outdoor habitat includes a waterfall water feature. Numerous pressed concrete walkways and steps that all converge on the Phair Family Giraffe Pavilion elevated feeding platform featuring a canopy that mimics the look of an acacia tree, one of the favorite foods of giraffes The design of the Laidig Giraffe Conservation Center building includes a visitor-viewing area inside that will allow visitors to see and feed giraffes in inclement weather all year long. The building has a giraffe holding area for 5, a “small hoof” zebra and ostrich holding area for 7, an entry vestibule to the inside viewing/feeding area, two family restrooms and a keeper area. What a wonderful addition to the Potawatomi Zoo in South Bend, IN.
The zoo now has four male Masai giraffes: Seymour, Maximus, Wyatt, Kellan, and a female named Zindzhi.
